Transforming a home into a space that reflects your personality and lifestyle can feel overwhelming—but working with an Interior Designer makes the process hassle-free, exciting, and unlock potential you never saw in your home.
At Lucy Winterwood Interior Design Studio, we guide clients through a clear, four-stage process, ensuring every detail is meticulously planned, designed, and executed. Here’s a guide to what you can expect for a full ‘turn-key’ project at each stage:

Stage One: Concept
Our creative journey begins with ideas and exploration. Stage One is all about understanding your needs, wants and individual lifestyle to create a solid foundation for the project. No two projects are the same, as we listen to our client’s unique perspective on life.
Client Expectation:
A client meeting, ideally in person at the home in question, to refine the brief.
We then document the Full Client Brief detailing budgets, functional requirements, preferences, and likes/dislikes.
If these are not provided by an architect, a site visit to measure the rooms/home accurately.
Development of 2D CAD drawings for space planning.
Concept presentation including floor plans, FF&E layouts, initial fabrics, finishes, and inspiration images.
By the end of this stage, the Concept is agreed upon and ready to move into detailed design.

Stage Two: Design Development
Once the concept is approved, Stage Two brings your vision to life with detailed designs and visuals. This stage ensures you can see exactly how your spaces will look and feel.
Client Expectation:
Detailed CAD floor plans and layouts for furniture, lighting, and bespoke cabinetry.
Rendered Elevations, mood boards, and finishes for every room.
Optional 3D hand renders or CGI visuals.
On approval, the detailed design is ‘frozen’ giving a clear design direction for the next stage.

Stage Three: Production of Information
Stage Three turns the approved design into a fully documented, actionable plan for design and build. This stage ensures everything is specified, sourced, and co-ordinated.
Client Expectation:
Creation of a comprehensive document detailing elements required to bring the project to realisation. Including, but not limited to: building contractor requirements, hard finishes, bespoke cabinetry, window treatments, furniture, fittings and accessories.
Technical CAD drawings, including small power plans and elevations for electrical and lighting where required
Full coordination with clients preferred contractors or our own recommended contacts. Including tendering and selection if needed.
Price for procurement of FF&E at trade price plus handling fee. The 20% Handling Fee covers our time to procure, co-ordinate with storage facilities, snag all deliveries and handle any damaged, faulty or unacceptable goods. This enables us to have a seamless implementation process at the end of the project.
This stage ensures your design is fully prepared for implementation.

Stage Four: Realisation – Site Supervision, Installation & Delivery
The final stage is about bringing the design to life. Lucy Winterwood will exercise planning and organisation to work with instructed contractors to ensure, as far as reasonably possible, that the designs signed off are accurately implemented.
Client Expectation:
Agreed site visits to monitor progress, with weekly updates provided to you.
Full procurement, installation, and delivery of FF&E: Furniture, Fittings & Accessories.
Handling of any site issues, snagging, or adjustments.
Final client handover documentation and a completion review.
By the end of Stage Four, the vision is realised. Leaving our clients with beautiful, functional, and unique space that reflects their personality perfectly.
